Background

A brief history of the institution

Ugenya Diploma Primary Teachers Training College (UDPTTC) is located in Siaya County Ukwala Sub County. The college was established in 2014 as a P1 teacher training college and opened its doors for pioneer students in September 2014. The college sits on a 15-acre piece of land that was financed by NG-CDF Ugenya Constituency 2013-2017. Ugenya TTC was an initiative of the area Member of Parliament, Hon David Ochieng’ whose vision culminated into mooting the idea of the college for training teachers in Ugenya. It is located seven kilometers from Ukwala Town, the Ugenya Sub-County headquarters along Ukwala-Nyaharwa road. It is also accessible from Sega –Aboke – Nyaharwa road and Bumala – Got Rembo – Obet road.

How to apply for Admission

Interested applicants receive the notice through the main newspapers and Media from Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Service (KUCCPS).
Upon receipt of the shortlisted candidates from KUCCPS, the college invites the candidates to collect their admission letters and the joining instructions.

DIPLOMA IN PRIMARY TEACHER EDUCATION (DPTE)

A DPTE Teacher Qualifies to teach in grade 1-9 of the Kenyan Education 

Course Duration: DPTE will take three (3) years of study in accordance with the approved Curriculum designs.
The diploma teacher trainees will cover the recommended hours for coursework, required hours for practicum and pass the assessments as directed by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).
